I mentioned awhile back that I sent a book review to a magazine for possible publication. I found out today, that is has been accepted.
You can see my review of Richard Laymon’s, The Traveling Vampire Show, in Withersin Magazine by clicking here.

So, I have to apologize for not keeping up with posts this week. Things have been a little hectic in and out of my ‘day job.’ In any event, I thought I would give you another part to ‘Jacob’s Mind’ a day early because of this. You can check it out under ‘Free Serialized Short Story’ to your right. I hope you enjoy!
Check out Part 3 of the Free Serialized Short Story, ‘Jacob’s Mind’ posted to your right. Enjoy!
I just learned that my short story, ‘Thirst’ that I told you about before, will not be coming out late 2008. Instead, Issue #9 of Werewolf Magazine, which will feature the story will be published in January 2009. I’ll still let you know when it is available and where to purchase it.
So, I read like a man possessed last night and this morning and finished noting my requested changes to the page proofs to Night School. Since then, I have sent them back to the publisher. They will hopefully implement all my changes and send me back the final proofs to sign-off on. Then, like I said, the book will go into the cover design department. Hopefully, this stage will be quick, as I already submitted a piece of artwork for the book to have. Of course, the publisher always has final say on this, so, again, I just have to keep my fingers crossed.
Once that stage is done, the book will go to the printer and I will be informed of the release date. I will then post the cover to the book on here and let you know when and where the book will be available.
Just a reminder, that you can read the synopsis (back cover) and an excerpt from Night School, under Freebies over on your right.
I received, today, from the publisher of Night School the page proofs for the book. I only have 48 hours to review, so I better get off here, fire up my printer and start reading!
After I review and send any corrections back to them, I will be sent a final set of proofs to sign off on and then it’s time for cover design. I’ll just keep my fingers crossed that they accept the cover art that Jaime Ortiz did for the book.
We’re getting closer…
Thank you to those of you that have recently visited my page and have left comments and/or asked a question. Having said that, I have included some more answers in the FAQs section, to your right.
For today, you will find Part 2 of the Free Serialized Short Story, I began last Friday. I hope you enjoy it and keep checking back each week for more parts to the story, ‘Jacob’s Mind.’ You can access the story by clicking on the appropriate link to your right.
Also, I would like to take this time to thank the websites Crypt Crawl and Horror.net for doing shout outs for my work and website. You can visit the sites by clicking their names, above.
I figured I would give you an update on what I have been up to the last few days.
So yeah, it has been a pretty busy last couple of days. I am doing ok, though. I just keep plugging away. I’ll of course give you any updates as they come in.
As it will be awhile (hopefully only a few months) until the release of my novel, Night School, I wanted to give you something to read in the meantime (that is, until my short story, ‘Thirst’, is published in Werewolf Magazine, Winter 08).
Over to your right under ‘Free Serialized Short Story’ you will find the beginning of weekly installments of the first short story I ever wrote (excluding those short stories I mentioned in the About Me section, back in 5th grade..ha ha). This short story (parts) has never been published elsewhere.
Enjoy and stop back each week for another part to the story, ‘Jacob’s Mind’.
One of the things I pondered when writing Night School, was what the cover of the book was going to look like if it went to print. Since starting this website a little over a week ago, it has also been on my mind about what sort of graphic/art I would put at the top of the home page.
One week ago, I began working with Jaime Ortiz of Trippy Tease Productions, on ideas for the cover of the book and graphic that would go at the top of this page.
As of yesterday, Jaime completed the artwork for the cover of the book (which will be sent to the publisher, today) and will begin shortly working on the graphic for the top of the page. I can’t share this coverwork with you, until it has been approved by the publisher, as they have final say on the cover of the book.
Although, if you have any ideas, thoughts, comments, about what should be at the top of this page, leave them below now or forever hold your peace!
