On the road…

By the time you read this, I’ll either be on my way from Cleveland, OH to Nashville, TN or have already arrived at Hypericon 5.  To read the background of me attending this event, click here.

As I previously mentioned, even though I won’t be an ‘author guest’ at the event, I’ll still be attending the event as a  fan – where it all started, anyway.

If you’ll be in the area, I highly suggest you come down and check out the convention.  There will be quite a few ‘big name’ authors, dealers and just some downright good times going on – which should last late into the night at a bar or two.  If you do come to the event, feel free to bring a copy of Night School and I will be more than happy to sign it for you.  I’ll be easy enough to spot as I’ll be wearing one of the Night School T-Shirts (which are also available for purchase at the Storefront) on Friday and Saturday during the days when I am wandering around the convention.  I’ll also bring along (which will be kept in my hotel room) the Night School Knife, if you’re interested in checking it out in person.

As you might imagine, with me being at the event from the 4th – 7th, there more than likely won’t be any page updates – though, this may change depending on internet availability.  Though, I will make sure to post my thoughts and some pictures of the event on Monday the 8th.

This should be a lot of fun…hope to see some of you there!

Booksigning Results

It was warm and sunny in Solon, Ohio (Saturday), the day of the signing at Borders.  Even though 70 degrees was nice for a jog or letting your little-one play in the yard, it wasn’t quite as nice for stores – those that depend on traffic, of course, for sales.  More specifically, book sales.

I found the management at this Borders outstanding.  They seemed to be more than happy to assist customers finding a book or directing them to their in-house coffee shop (which was great).  They also did a nice job of setting up a table for me and my books at the front of the store.  To the store, thank you.

I would also like to thank those of you that took the time to stop by the table, to talk, buy the book and get it signed by me.  I enjoyed speaking with each and every one of you and truly appreciate you taking the time out of your busy day to learn more about me and my work.  I hope you continue to check back often on this website for future books, stories, interviews, etc.

Again, thank you.

It was a windy day here in Cleveland, Ohio.  The streets outside Visible Voice Books where the signing took place were flooded and it took wearing knee high boots unless you wanted your feet all wet.  Regardless of that, some customers strolled into the store and I got to talk to a few of them about Night School and my short story, ‘Thirst’ that came out last week in Werewolf Magazine #9.  There were also a few that bought the book and got it signed.  Overall, I wouldn’t rank this the best signing in the world, but taking into consideration the location and outside elements, it went well and I enjoyed seeing some familiar and new faces that walked through the door.  Thank you to those of you that took the time out to see me at my first signing in 2009.

Now…I gear up for the second signing of 2009 at Borders on the 28th of this month.  You can read more about this signing, the location, etc, here.

Remember the Signing!

What:  Book Signing

When:  Tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 7th) from 1:00 – 4:00pm

Where:

Visible Voice Books

1023 Kenilworth

Cleveland, OH  44113

As a reminder, Night School will be sold for $25.00 ($5.00 off the cover price) and Werewolf Magazine #9 will be sold for $3.00 ($2.00 off the cover price).  Also, don’t forget that if you want a copy of Werewolf Mag without ordering it through the publisher, get there early as I only have 5 copies.  Of course, if you have copies of either (though Werewolf might be hard to have already as it was just printed a week ago) already, feel free to bring them in for me to sign.

As a side note, if you can’t make the signing tomorrow, I will be at Borders in Medina and Solon, Ohio, on Feb. 28th and Mar. 28th.  Click here for more info.

Reviews (needed)

As I prepare for my first of several Appearances this year (beginning with a book signing this coming Saturday in Cleveland, Ohio), I wanted to ask each of you that has bought and read the book, to go to Amazon and write a book review for me.  If you haven’t purchased on Amazon in the past and are unable to post a review there, feel free to post it to any other store’s website.  As a thanks for doing a review, let me know when its done and I’ll send you some free bookmarks of Night School.

If you have yet to buy the book, visit the Storefront to do so.  If you still don’t know what the book is about or want to read an excerpt, click here.

Oh, I received the copies of Werewolf Magazine #9 on Friday and they turned out great.  You can purchase the magazine, which contains my short story, ‘Thirst’ by visiting the Storefront, as well.

Thanks!

Book Signings

In addition to the book signing I will be doing at Visible Voice Books (Cleveland, Ohio) on Feb. 7th, there are now two other events scheduled.  See below.

Borders in Medina, Ohio – Feb. 28th from 1-3pm

Borders in Solon, Ohio – Mar. 28th from 1-3pm

Both of these stores will have plenty of copies on hand for you to buy or you can bring in a copy you already have for me to sign.  A side note:  the ‘reduced-priced’ issue of Werewolf Magazine #9 (mentioned here) that contains my short story, ‘Thirst’ will only be available at the signing on Feb. 7th.

You can find more information, including the store’s address by clicking on Appearances/News.

In addition, the first chapter of Night School is now on the First Chapter Project.  If you want to go directly to the excerpt, click here.

Withersin Interview & Update to Booksigning

I mentioned awhile back about Withersin Magazine doing an interview with me.  Well, it is finally posted to their website.  Click here to read it.

&

I mentioned here about my first booksigning of the year on Feb. 7th.  Of course, I will have on hand a number of copies of Night School that you can purchase and have me sign (along with free bookmarks, etc) or you can bring in your own copy for me to sign.  Along with having the book, Al Vermette, the publisher of the magazine (and a heck of a guy), will be providing me with a limited number (5) of copies of Werewolf Magazine #9 (comes out this month) containing my short story, ‘Thirst.’  The copies of the magazine will be $3.00 (2-bones off the cover price) so you can not only check out my short story, but enjoy all the other great stories contained within and learn more about the magazine, itself.  Hopefully, this will make you thirsty for more of what Sapphire Publications (Blood Moon Rising) has to offer.

If you aren’t able to make the book signing but still want a copy of Werewolf #9, visit the Bookstore to learn how to get one (or two, or three, or…).

North Coast Voice Magazine

I mentioned here about a certain local (alternative) newspaper that was going to do an article about me and Night School.

Now that it’s official I can tell you about it.

North Coast Voice Magazine will be doing a review of Night School and an article about me for their Feb. 4, 2009, issue.  The book will be featured in a column by Sage Satori, called, ‘Hot Off The Press.’  They will also be advertising my book signing at Visible Voice Books on Feb. 7, 2009 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.

North Coast Voice Magazine is available all over Northeast Ohio.  You can normally find their ‘bins’ next to the daily newspaper.  Although, if you don’t live in the area and would like to read the article, you can do so by visiting their website on Feb. 4th.  If you would still like a ‘hardcopy’ of the newspaper, let me know and I’ll see what I can do about sending you one.

As a reminder, you can always find out my latest book signing events and appearances, by clicking here.
