Updates…

Simply put – there will be none during this weekend.  I’m in Toledo, Ohio, for the next few days to partake in my sister’s wedding on Saturday.

I’ll have some news/updates for you on either Sunday or Monday evening.

Until then…spend some time cruising the site…you’re bound to find, er, read something you enjoy!

Until next time…

LIVE Chat #2 Scheduled

Back on September 2nd I held my first LIVE Chat on Facebook.  Now it’s time to do it all again.

Like last time, it will work like this.  If you’re not already one of my friends on Facebook (or don’t even have an account yet – in which case you really need to get with the times and sign up), you would add me.   Next, you would go to my Facebook Fan Club page (which was set up by a great fan in the UK) and Join the Group.  My regular page is a great place to read the daily ins and outs of my life and the fan club page, well, that’s just plain cool!

After you have added me as a friend on my regular Facebook page, you then come online on Wednesday, November 11th @ 8:00pm.  I will make a Wall Post at that time when the ‘chat lines are open’ and you can begin to ask me whatever questions (writing related or not) you would like to know.  I will do my best to answer each and every question to the best of my abilities.  As far as how long the chat lasts, that either depends on when you get tired of reading what I’ve gotta say or I’ve had one beer too many and I say the hell with it…

Hope to see both returning and new faces on both of my pages and to talk with a bunch of you on Nov. 11th at 8:00!  I’ll be posting a reminder on this site and both of my pages a day or two before the event.

Happy Hallows Eve

There are many different urban legends where Halloween (or Hallows Eve) came from.  Some say that the idea of Halloween has satanic roots while others simply think the idea behind the day/night is for little kids to get dressed up and go in search of sugar filled treats.

But, if you want to know the real history behind this great day, check this stuff out, provided by History.com.

A Tribute To Richard Laymon

As many of you know, Richard Laymon is, was, and always will be my favorite horror author.  That’s not to say I don’t have quite a few authors I really enjoy and are friends with, but Laymon’s stuff is what first inspired me to start writing my own scary stuff.  Many of you have even commented to me that my writing is similiar to his and even though that is an honor to hear, I can only hope to be as well respected and prolific as he.

Having said all that, I was recently cruising YouTube (where you can also watch the book trailer to Night School) and found this tribute video to Laymon.  I thought it was interesting and well done and wanted to share it with you here as well.

Click here to check out the video.

Quickening – The Zombie Raver Prom

Do you live in or driving distance from Cleveland, Ohio and are looking for something unique to do on Halloween?  Well, I might have your answer right here.

Deepinit Productions is housting : Quickening – The Zombie Raver Prom in a massive 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Cleveland, Ohio on Halloween.

So, if you’re into dancing, raving, drinking and just plain getting crazy to some music, you can learn more about the event and the admission costs by visiting here (Facebook page) and/or here (you can see an electronic flyer on this site).

Enjoy…and who knows…perhaps you’ll see me there as well…maybe.

Map Update

You might have noticed that the ClustrMap in the bottom right hand corner looks, well, rather empty.  I was wondering the same thing after I logged on today.  So, I researched it a bit and found the following explanation from the service provider:

The sudden disappearance of dots means that a regular archive has just occurred…this is a yearly occurance.  Old maps will remain available in a stored archive, which is accessible as follows: when you zoom in to the world map, you’ll see (high on the page) a line labelled:

Navigation: Map with smaller clustrs / Maps Archive / Notes, etc

The second link (Map Archive) will take you to the page where the previous thumbnail map is stored.

So, if it’s your first time here and you want to see where hits occurred last year or just didn’t check it out prior to September 30th, follow the above instructions and see it for yourself.

Novella project update & a new project annoucement

As you know, I have been working with Misty Gersely & Adam Lewis to produce three different novellas based on a common theme of ‘a doctor makes a house call’.  Adam and my novellas have been completed for some time and Misty’s will be done by mid-October.  At which point the entire manuscript will be sent to another author (who you’ll know by name, but I can’t mention who he is quite yet) for review and to write an introduction for the future book.  At that time, we will decide who to send the manuscript to for possible publication.

Now, onto something new…

Tom Erb, Dean Harrison (two great friends and talented up-and-comers) and I have decided to do a similiar project, as well.  Though the theme has yet to be decided, I wanted to tell you that it will also be a total of 3 novellas, based on a common theme, where each of us takes the storyline in our individual stories in our own creative way.  Should be a lot of fun and I am looking forward to it!  More to come as the project develops.

Updates…

As you can tell, website updates have been scarce as of late.  Among other reasons, this is because I have started a new part-time job over the past week and it’s on third shift.  As you can imagine, this doesn’t exactly leave me with much awake and/or normal brain wave functioning time to do much on here.  Nonetheless, there have been some things going on over the past week or so that I wanted to update you on.  So here you go…

This website, in less than a year, has over 10K hits!  Thank You!

‘Cake Batter’ film will go into production in the next two weeks.

I”m still pitching movie ideas to a major film studio (obviously I can’t tell you which one right now)

Received a positive response from one publisher on my short story collection – hopefully there will be more information coming soon!

There will be new contests on both this site and my Facebook Fan Club site at the end of the month (there will be plenty of books to win – from my personal collection)

I’m nearing a deal with a magazine on writing a serialized story

Short story, ‘The Ringmaster’ will be the featured story on Orion’s Child Magazine in October – which will be Free to read and I will provide a link once available.

That’s it for now…hang in there folks…there’s some exciting stuff in the works!

From Me, To You

I mentioned here that I was going to write a story specifically for you, my fans, for your dedication for reading my work and coming back to this site over and over again.  Originally, I was going to wait until the ticker at the bottom read 10,000 visitors, but I think 9,800+ is plenty close enough.

So without further ado, here it is…my 3,300 word short story (I did a little experiment with a different kind of format of the story itself…hopefully it works – you’ll see what I mean soon enough), ‘The Legend of Johnston’s Creek’.

Thanks again for all your support!

Enjoy!
