Just In Time For Halloween

October is going to be a busy, but exciting month. The month of creepiness will bring not one, but two book releases, that I’ve been eager to see the light of day for quite some time. Details are below.

The Fields, The Zombie Feed Press, an imprint of Apex Publications. This atypical zombie novella received rave reviews from my peers and has an introduction written by NY Times Bestseller, Jonathan Maberry. The cover art and book trailer will be posted in the coming weeks. (Update – 10/14/11: the release date will now be in November, though pre-orders should still begin in October)

For After Midnight, Naked Snake Press. This collection is filled with 18 short stories, including a bonus novelette. There’s over 80k words of terror in this badboy. The cover art and book trailer will be posted in the coming weeks.

So, as you can see, October is going to be an great month. Start saving your pennies now, ’cause I don’t take candy in exchange for books. You’ll be glad you did.

Welcome to The Fields

The Fields

Billy Fletcher learned to farm the family’s tobacco fields – and beat slaves – by the hands of his father. Now, his father is dead, the slaves have long since been freed, and the once-lush fields are dying. Salvation by the name of Abraham knocks on the farmhouse door, bringing wild ideas. He can help Billy save the plantation and return the fields to their former glory…by raising his father’s slaves from the dead.

Can the resurrected slaves breathe life back into the Fletcher farm? Having brought the slaves back from graves that his father sent them to, can Billy be the kind master his father wasn’t? Is keeping the farm worth denying the men the freedom they earned with death?

Billy’s conscience holds the key to those mysteries, but not the biggest one: what does Abraham really want from the former slave owner’s son?

Welcome to The Fields.

Coming in October from The Zombie Feed Press, an imprint of Apex Publications.

Note: A trailer for the novella will be posted in a few weeks.

For After Midnight

I’m pleased to announce that Naked Snake Press has picked up my short story collection — For After Midnight.  This 80k word collection is filled with stories about: the dark woods, the desert, a graveyard and the dark streets, where monsters and strange creatures run amok.  The other half of this collection tells about characters driven to the brink of insanity, coping with the loss of loved ones, spousal abuse and fighting crime on the mean city streets.

The tentative release date is October 2011 and will be made available in Trade Paperback and ebook.

Get Twisted…some more!
