The Vanguard

You may remember that about a week ago I got an email from Dean Harrison asking me what my definition of horror is for his college newspaper.  Of course I went into a little more detail than just giving a flat definition and then sent it off to him.  You can read the article I wrote here.

Using mine and other various sources, Dean then wrote an article of his own about horror literature for his college newspaper, ‘The Vanguard’ at the University of South Alabama (Dean is a Contributing Editor at the paper).  Though Dean was supposed to send me a copy when it came out (and, hell, perhaps I’ll still get a hard copy – though, I more like busting his balls about it now), I did find the article that was published in ‘The Vanguard’ on April 12th.  You can read the article here.  Well done, Dean!

Dawn of a New Business Card

Artwork taken from the cover of my novel, Night School.  The artwork was originally done by Jaime Ortiz.

The actual design of the new business card was done by my fiance, Sheryl (and I think she did a wonderful job – and I’m not just saying that to keep me out of the doghouse:)).

Last Call for Night School Knife/Book Set

The Night School Knife/Book Set originally debuted about a year ago.  And as I was recently looking over at the Storefront (where you can buy all sorts of cool stuff), I figured that it was time to mention it one last time.  So, if you are a knife, book lover or both, you better hurry up and order one, today.  Click here for details about the custom-made knife/book set and how you can go about ordering one.  The offer for this limited edition set ends forever on April 30th!

Fall Writing Class

As you know, you can now enroll in the class I’ll be teaching this summer at the University of Akron (Akron, Ohio) – ‘So You Want To Be A Horror Writer’.

A description of the class; including cost, classroom location, dates/times and how to enroll can be found here.

In addition, the class will now also be offered during the Fall semester.  The class will have the same weekly format, times, costs, etc.  The Fall class has a tentative start date of September 14th and will run for 5-consecutive weeks.  So, if you can’t make the summer class for whatever reason, here’s another chance to join in the fun later in the year.  You can’t enroll in the Fall class as of yet since they are doing enrollment for the summer, but I wanted to put it out there so you can mark your calendars now, so you don’t go off and plan a late-summer vacation or anything like that.  Besides, what’s better than spending time inside a classroom when it’s warm and sunny outside, right?!

Special Book Signing and Cake Batter Showing

As you may or may not know, I am originally from the small town of Covington, Ohio.  Covington is about a half hour north of Dayton.  This is the reason the below press release is very special to me.  Thanks and I look forward to seeing a lot of new and old friends alike at the event.
