A şaptea Casă (The 7th House)

Revista de Suspans_Sept2014

(Here’s another one I missed last year)

Revista de suspans is a Romanian horror zine who first translated my short story “One Brew Too Many?” then went on to translate and publish my short story “Gnomus”. They then translated and published my short story “The 7th House” back in September 2014. This 6,600 word short story is a follow-up to “Gnomus”.

The 7th House takes place at a haunted house attraction where Steven exacts his revenge on Deborah’s nasty little way of making him do what she wants.

Below are the links to the story in both Romanian and English.

Cursed Curiosities

Cursed Curiosities

This one is a few months late. The truth of the matter is; until recently, I didn’t know this anthology was released back in August by Barbwire Butterfly Books. In any event, my short story “Gnomus” was reprinted in this tome. Take a gander, if you like.

Description:

Buyer Beware!

If you’ve recently approached a strange emporium of oddities or antiquities, I hope you’ve taken a few things into consideration…

What urge brought you there?

Were you drawn to a particular item on display?

Did it call out to you?

Though everything inside was for sale, did you consider how much you were willing to spend? Perhaps you proffered the listed price, or perhaps you haggled the price down a bit. But did you consider the imperceptible fine print? You may just find you’ve paid a great deal more than what your parcel is worth.

The following twenty-seven works chronicle such transactions. When you purchase this anthology, be sure you’re only paying the listed price to a reputable dealer. Otherwise, I cannot be responsible for the consequences.

You can learn more about this anthology and pick up your own Trade Paperback copy HERE.

“Piticul” (Gnomus)

Revista de Suspans_No 18_2014

Revista de suspans is a Romanian horror zine who first translated my short story “One Brew Too Many?” in September 2013. They have now translated and published my short story “Gnomus” in their new issue.

“Gnomus” is a 2,200 word short story. The tale centers around Steven whom is newly retired and is becoming increasingly annoyed by his wife’s “to do” list. Little does Steven know Deborah has an unique way to make sure he completes everything on her list.

Mut antrinken

Liquid Courage_German

“Mut antrinken” is the German translation of “Liquid Courage”. This short story was originally published in English by Shroud Magazine, Issue #9, August 2010. It was reprinted in For After Midnight, October 2011, then again in the Kindle eBook “Liquid Courage”, December 2012. I’ve heard some say this particular tale is their favorite short story of mine.

Description:

“Mut antrinken” is a 7,500 word short story about a man trying to get over a bad breakup with his girlfriend.

Chris is going through a lot of internal strife and is looking for a way out. He even ponders committing suicide… until his friend comes up missing.

Shortly after the disappearance, Chris starts receiving notes containing clues to his friend’s whereabouts.

In the end, Chris’ friend isn’t the only one who needs saving.

Tales of Obscenity #1_6x9size

Announced here, you can now pre-order the limited hardcover of Tales of Obscenity #1 magazine. Click on the link to check out the full table of contents; which includes a review of DININ’ by Sheri White, an interview of me by John Everson, an article co-written with my fiancé, Sheryl Scanlon, and my 10k novelette, “Suck on This, Bitch!”. Below is a description of the story.

Steve and Marc are two men with nothing much going on in their lives. They work little, live in a rat-infested apartment, sponge off the government and enjoy the simple things in life: booze, cigarettes and women. It’s on one lonely night they decide to take their wasted lifestyle to the next level… by calling Miss. Jena’s Escort Service.

Deanna is a smart, good looking and goal driven lady, but works in a terrible profession. If she makes it through one last night, she’ll have enough money to retire from the lifestyle she’s never quite become accustomed… If life was only that simple.

What ensues is a night full of debauchery and torture. Will Deanna have the inner-strength to make it out of the trashed apartment alive or will the two men and a filthy rat reign supreme?

Only time and one of the men’s conscience holds the answer.
